Have you heard this fish which is considered as the top in the Guinness Book World of Record? This fish is known as " Bluefin Tuna " .The Most expensive fish ever caught and sold was a 444lb bluefin tuna sold in Japan’s famous Tsukiji market in Tokyo in January of 2001. The fish was sold for $173,600, which is $391 per lb. The fish was caught off the Northern shore of Japan, an area known for it’s high quality tuna. Bluefin tuna can reach up to 1,500 lbs.
Bluefin tuna is popularly served raw as sashimi or sushi in restaurants where a plate of slices can command a bill of more than $100.
